Especially if you’re part of the younger generation who head to Cornwall, chances are that Newquay is high up on your list. Not only does it have some really great beaches (10 in total) but there are lots of other things to keep you occupied on your vacation in Newquay.

Surfers from all corners of the world come to Newquay and there is an annual surfing competition that takes place in the town. Because of this during the summer months the town is busy night and day with a variety of attractions and vibrant nightlife. But, as well as being a haven for surfers this town is popular with families as well. Actually in the months of July and August the population of the town nearly rises four fold.

The climate is somewhat different from other parts of Britain during the summer the weather is usually quite warm with very little chance of rain occurring. Whilst the winters are cool rather than cold. Which makes Newquay an ideal place to visit throughout the year, just remember to bring some warm clothing if visit during the winter or spring months.

Years ago, the town was a busy port (although not as large as rivals Plymouth or Portsmouth), but now it has become a hot spot for tourists instead. Because of its popularity, if you decide to stay in Newquay whether for a few days or a week then it’s best to book your Newquay hotel early.

But, if you’re prefer to miss the crowds and have a peaceful stay in the town then consider visiting in April or May. The weather in these months is reasonable and temperatures are relatively warm at this time of year. But the great thing about visiting Newquay at this time is that you will find that you have many of the beaches to yourself.

Although the beaches and the surfing are the main reasons why so many people choose Newquay vacations, there are plenty of other things for one to do and see. For instance, the town’s zoo will keep children happy for hours and the Blue Reef Aquarium is also high up on most people’s lists. However, if they want why not let them get some body boarding lessons down on the beach as well.

When you’re looking for a Newquay hotel or guest house, you have a number of choices available to you. Either you can select to stay in one of Newquay’s hotels or if you want to get a little more feel for the kinds of lives that the locals lead then staying in one of the family run guesthouses or B&B’s is a far better option for you. They are also usually a cheaper option than a hotel if your budget is limited.
